The additive effect of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy for peri-implant disease

Intervention(s)*control group: After mechanical debridement and air-abrasion, the peri-implant pocket is irrigated with normal saline on surgical date, 10 (6-14) days after the treatment, and 2 times with an interval of 7 (5-9) days. *a-PTD group: After mechanical debridement and air-abrasion, the peri-implant pocket is given photodynamic therapy with FotoSan630 using FotoSanAgent as photosensitizer on surgical date, 10 (6-14) days after the treatment, and 2 times with an interval of 7 (5-9) days.

Outcome(s)

Primary OutcomeChanges in pus discharge volume at day 7.
Secondary Outcome*Pus discharge volume at month 12 *Inflammation symptoms at day 7 *Pocket depth at month 12 *Alveolar bone height at month 12 *Safety.
