Intervention(s)

steroid group: betamethasone 0.2mg/kg is administrated intravenously right after tracheal intubation
control: normal saline 0.05ml/kg is administrated intravenously right after tracheal intubation

Outcome(s)

• Primary Outcome: insulin resistance
• Secondary Outcome: change of blood glucose during general anesthesia, blood test (lactate, pyruvic acid, insulin, free fatty acid, ketone body, catecholamine, 3-methylhistidine(indicator of muscle protein degradation,cortisol), serum electrolyte(Na+,K+,Mg2+,Ca2+,Cl-),arterial blood gas (pH,PaCO2,PaO2,HCO3-,BE), urea nitrogen

Key inclusion & exclusion criteria

• Age minimum: 20age
• Age maximum: 50age
• Gender: Both

Include criteria

1. written informed concent is obtained from patients who undergo oral surgery
2. aged from 20 to 50
3. ASA from 1 or 2
4. estimated operation time:3-7 hours

Exclude criteria

1. patients diagnosed with diabetes mellitus or disorder of carbohydrate metabolism
2. 18.0>BMI BMI<=30
3. patients suspicious of cancer or cancerous patients
4. patients who should not receive rinderon
5. patients whom reseachers consider inappropriate
