Intervention(s)

glucose group (G): patients drink 278 ml of water with 50g glucose ( 178 ml of mineral water and 50 g glucose ( 100ml of 50% carbohydrate solution 200 ml) 2 hours before anesthesia and receive acetated Ringer solution with 1.5% glucose during operation
control grpup (R): patients drink 278 ml of mineral water 2 hours before anesthesia and receive acetated Ringer solution without glucose during operation

Outcome(s)

• Primary Outcome: Insulin resistance
• Secondary Outcome: blood test ( glucose, lactate, pyruvic acid, insulin, glucagon, free fatty acid,ketone body, catecholamine, 3-methylhistidine(indicator of muscle protein degradation,cortisol), serum electrolyte(Na+,K+,Mg2+,Ca2+,Cl-),arterial blood gas (pH,PaCO2,PaO2,HCO3-,BE),urine volume, urea nitrogen

Key inclusion & exclusion criteria

• Age minimum: 20age
• Age maximum: 50age
• Gender: Both

Include criteria

1. written informed concent is obtained from jaw deformity patients who undergo osteotomy
2. aged from 20 to 50
3. ASA 1 or 2
4. estimated operation time: more than 3 hours

Exclude criteria

1. patients who have any other disorders except for jaw deformity
2. patients diagnosed with diabetes mellitus or disorder of carbohydrate metabolism
3. 18.0>BMI BMI<=30
4. patients whom reseachers consider inappropriate
