Intervention(s)

Intervention group: Tongue brushing with Oxydol before and after surgery.
Control group: Tongue brushing with tap water before and after surgery.

Outcome(s)

• Primary Outcome: The difference in bacterial count in the tongue coating after tongue brushing between the two groups

Secondary Outcome

Changes of bacterial count in the tongue coating before or after tongue brushing
Association of investigation factor and bacterial count in the tongue coating

Key inclusion & exclusion criteria

• Age minimum: >= 20age old
• Age maximum: Not applicable
• Gender: Both
• Include criteria: Patients undergoing surgery (laparotomy or laparoscopic / thoracoscopic surgery) for gastrointestinal cancer
• Exclude criteria: Patients with problem in judgement
