Effect of transcranial magnetic stimulation

Intervention(s)The subject is a healthy person or a patient with stroke hemiparesis. The group is divided into a group with no kinesthetic illusion induced by visual stimulation (KiNvis) therapy with only theta burst stimulation and a group with KiNvis therapy which combines the theta burst stimulation with KiNvis therapy. The stimulation conditions for the theta burst stimulation are two site: primary motor area and supplementary motor area. Physical responses are evaluated exploratory before and after intervention. The stimulation conditions for TBS are in random order. The interventions are performed for 1 day each, with a washout period more than 6 days.

Primary OutcomeMotor Evoked Potential (MEP), Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA), Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS)
Secondary OutcomeAction Research Arm Test (ARAT), Stroke Impairment Assessment Set (SIAS), Motor Activity Log (MAL), Box and Block Test (BBT)

Key inclusion & exclusion criteria

Age minimum>= 20age old
Age maximum<= 80age old
GenderBoth
Include criteriaHealthy subjects, patient with upper function disturbance due to stroke
Exclude criteriaPatients contraindicated for exercise therapy, patients who have metal in the brain/skull or a cardiac pacemaker
