Effects of electrical stimulation during hemodialysis in elderly patients.

Intervention(s)Subjects underwent electrical stimulation for 40 munites during the first half of the HD session three times a week of 12 consecutive weeks. A group that underwent standard hemodialysis treatment without electrical stimulation.

Key inclusion & exclusion criteria

Age minimum>= 65age old
Age maximum< 90age old
GenderBoth
Include criteriaThe subjects were stable, maintenance hemodialysis patients who underwent outpatient hemodialysis treatment of three times a week
Exclude criteria(1) patients who use implanted electronic divice (Pacemaker) (2) Acute coronary syndrome, particularly unstable angina and acute myocardial infarction. (3) systolic blood pressure overed 180 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure overed 110 mmHg. (4) patients who were determined as inappropriate for the study by the attending physician.
