Intervention(s) | The intervention group will receive whey protein prior to exercise in an amount equal to 1.0 g protein per body weight daily combined with their regular diet, and will perform HIIT (High Intensity Interval Exercise Training) three times per week. On days when HIIT is not performed, whey protein should be consumed before bedtime. Heart rate during exercise will be monitored with a portable activity monitor. |

Secondary Outcome | Improvement of 6-minute walking distance, respiratory function index, walking speed, grip strength, maximum knee extension tension, body composition (lean body mass, abdominal visceral fat mass), echocardiographic index (at rest, during exercise), etc. |

Include criteria | Men and women between the ages of 60 and 75 Elderly patients with sarcopenia who are eligible for exercise training intervention Patients with the written consent |
Exclude criteria | Uncontrolled symptomatic heart failure Symptomatic angina pectoris, or ischemic heart disease Valvular disease of moderate severity or greater Bradycardia [pulse rate less than 50 beats per minute] or atrioventricular block of degree 2 or higher Sustained or persistent atrial fibrillatiom Renal failure Systolic blood pressure of 100 mmHg or less History of asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease Orthopedic complication [low back pain, knee pain, hip pain that is difficult to treat with exercise therapy] |
