Efficacy of the anteromedial-cortex view in treating trochanteric fractures.

Intervention(s)A participant is set on the traction table in an operation room. After a manual reduction manueveur, the anteromedial cortex view as well as an ordinary anterior-posterior view and a lateral view are teken with an image-intensifier. The anteromedial cortex view is evaluated along with ordinal views, and find out if it will have additional meaning in a clinical setting. To collect the desired number of participants, the multi-center study is considered.

Outcome(s)

Primary OutcomeTo evaluate the incidence of the patients that reduction is considered to be acceptable on the conventional lateral view and to be unacceptable on the anteromedial cortex view.

Include criteriaTrochanteric fractures treated with open reduction and internal fixation at our instituion and the joint research institutions.
Exclude criteriaTrochanteric fractures treated with conservative treatment.
