Effect of different sutures on medial meniscus posterior Root Tear (MMPRT) repair

Intervention(s)Two types of suture thread used for pullout repair in MMPRTs: Wayolax with needle or Fiberwire are randomly used. The same procedure is used for both groups except for the difference in thread.

Primary OutcomeClinical results (Lysholm score)
Secondary Outcome1.Clinical results (Tegner score, International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) score, The Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) score, Visual analogue scale (VAS) of knee pain) 2.An arthroscopic scoring system; Furumatsu score, The International Cartilage Repair Society (ICRS) grade 3.Radiological evaluation (femoral tibial angle, Kellgren Lawrence grade, Koshino stage, medial meniscal medial extrusion) 4.The adverse events; suture tears, infections

Key inclusion & exclusion criteria

Age minimum>= 50age old
Age maximum< 80age old

Include criteria1. 50 age old over, 80 age old not at the time of obtaining the imformed consent 2. Patients who have a sufficient understanding and has obtained the informed consent after receiving a sufficient explanation for participating in this study 3. Patients diagnosed with MMPRT 4. BMI is less than 30 kg/m2 5. Femoral tibia angle (FTA) is less than 180 degrees or less 6. Kellgren-Lawrence grade 0, 1, or 2 7. Koshino stage 0, 1, or 2 8. The duration from MMPRT injury to surgery is less than 4 months
Exclude criteria1. Patients with contraindications such as sensitization or allergies to Wayolax with needle or Fiberwire 2. Patients who are judged to be unsuitable for the study by the principal investigator and the investigator
