Outcome(s)

Primary OutcomeThe questionnaire used for evaluation was the 2nd edition of the Scale for Assessment of the Structure and Process of Palliative Care by Bereaved Families.
Secondary OutcomeThe diagnosis, age, sex, physical findings, test results (blood tests, imaging tests, etc.), nursing records, percentage of patients who underwent sedation for pain relief, percentage of patients who underwent PCT intervention, duration of sedation, target symptoms, drugs used, and the decision-making process of patients and their families for patients who underwent sedation that corresponds to "administration of sedatives for the purpose of alleviating treatment-resistant pain."

Include criteriaThe target audience is family members of patients who have received sedation, which is defined as "the administration of sedatives to relieve treatment-resistant pain."
Exclude criteriaSedation is not recommended if opioids or antipsychotics cause decreased consciousness. Nighttime administration of sleeping pills for treatment-resistant non-painful insomnia is also not recommended.
