An Examination of the Effectiveness of On-Demand Staff Training for Staff of After-School Daycare Services Who Work with Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders: Through a Before-and-After Comparison Study.

Intervention(s) | On-demand staff training (ST) will be conducted once per week and the participants will be asked to watch one video on ST at a time. The videos will be uploaded to YouTube, a video streaming application, for limited viewing, and the link to the limited viewing will be sent to the participants using LINE, the social networking application. Each research subject is asked to watch the videos at his/her convenience and to deepen the content of the ST through a simple online test for review. After watching the video, the study participants will be asked to conduct homework (HW) at their own discretion at each After-School Daycare, and to deepen the content of HW, online meetings will be held in real- time with the study participants using the video calling application, Zoom. These meetings are voluntary and will be held regularly starting in the second week of the study, for 60 minutes per meeting. |

Include criteria | [After-school Day Service staff] 1) Those who are 20 years of age or older when consent is obtained. 2) Those who are taking care of children with ASD (IQ 50 or higher) between the ages of 6 and 15 at the time of consent. 3) Those who are able to prepare a communication environment to participate in on-demand staff training, and are able to use the video streaming application and the video call application. [Parents or guardians of children] 4) Those who have a child with ASD (IQ 50 or above) between the ages of 6 and 15 at the time of obtaining consent. 5) Those who can prepare a communication environment for answering the questionnaire and can use the video call application. |
Exclude criteria | [After-school Day Service staff] 1) Those who have already attended parent training. 2) Those whom the principal investigator deems inappropriate as research subjects. [Parents or guardians of children] 1) Those who have children who are unable to perform the DLS designated by the co-investigator due to their characteristics of disability. 2) Persons with children who are unable to perform the DLS designated by the co-investigator due to anxiety. 3) Those whom the principal investigator deems inappropriate as research subjects. |
