Evaluation of proper implant positioning of total knee arthroplasty

Intervention(s)The implant trial was conducted using (1) a standard insert trial (conventional instrument) and (2) an insert trialthat provides a position similar to that of a healthy knee joint. (new instrument) The positional posture and intraoperative dynamics between the femur and tibia during the passive ROM movement were recorded by the Navigation System. In addition, internal and external rebound stresses will be applied and the distance between the joints will be measured.

Include criteriaPatients who are eligible for posterior cruciate ligament retaining total knee arthroplasty
Exclude criteriaPatients for whom the Navigation System is deemed unusable Patients in whom it is judged that the posterior cruciate ligament cannot be preserved intraoperatively
