• Intervention(s): The design of this study involves a stereotactic intracranial electroencephalography intervention for the thalamus, which has not been commonly performed.

Outcome(s)

• Primary Outcome: As evaluation outcomes, the primary endpoints are epileptic neural activity specifically observed in the thalamus before and after an epileptic seizure (waveforms, frequency, and symptomatology during seizures and interictal EEG, functional connectivity between electrodes, and EI for each electrode).
• Secondary Outcome: Secondary endpoints included thalamic activity at rest, thalamic activity during task loading, procedure performed, seizure prognosis, pre- and postoperative higher brain function, and radiological imaging.

Key inclusion & exclusion criteria

• Age minimum: >= 18age old
• Age maximum: Not applicable
• Gender: Both

Include criteria

Age 18 years or older
Drug-resistant epilepsy
Scheduled standard surgical treatment for the purpose of epilepsy surgery
Need and scheduled SEEG test for surgical treatment
Able to understand the explanation of the study by him/herself and sign the consent form

Exclude criteria

Patients under 18 years of age
Patients with obvious cognitive decline
Patients who do not meet the indications for standard epilepsy surgical treatment
