Detection of FFP of motor nerve origin by stimulating central nervous system

Basic Information

Study typeInterventional
Intervention(s)1. FFP Exploration via Peripheral Stimulation (Replication) This study explores FFP detection by altering electrode positions during median nerve stimulation. Instead of traditional CMAP electrode placement, reference electrodes on the non-stimulated limb (e.g., radius or ulna) confirm FFP recording. Essential for comparative analysis, this method aligns with standard medical practices. Five subjects. 2. FFP Detection with Transcranial Stimulation FFP recording, unachievable at standard CMAP sites due to TMS, is confirmed by placing reference electrodes on the non-stimulated limb. The study seeks optimal recording settings, measuring individual motor thresholds to set stimulation at 120% of this threshold, with intervals of at least 10 seconds, capping frequency at 0.1Hz. Five subjects.

Outcome(s)

Primary OutcomeFar-field potentials
Secondary OutcomeConditions under which far-field potentials were measured (reference electrode position and frequency)
