Study of mild downhill training method

Intervention(s)In the study, three groups will be trained: level walking (control), downhill walking, and downhill walking with skin cooling. Treadmills will be used for walking training, with a frequency of 3 times/week for 6 weeks. The walking speed will be 4 km/h. The downhill gradient will start at -6% and gradually change to -12%. Walking time for all patients will start at 15 minutes and gradually increase to 30 minutes. For skin cooling, using by a menthol-containing (5%) gel formulation (Kao: soo).

Outcome(s)

Primary OutcomeKnee extension muscle strength, plantar flexion muscle strength, standing balance, walking ability, surface electromyography
Secondary OutcomeGrip strength, locomotor test

Key inclusion & exclusion criteria

Age minimum>= 40age old
Age maximum<= 80age old
GenderBoth
Include criteriaHealthy adult men and women between the ages of 40 and 80
Exclude criteriaCannot walk for about 30 minutes a day. Are prohibited from exercising by a physician. Have a leg or back disease that causes pain. Has respiratory disease such as asthma, emphysema, COPD, etc. Cardiovascular disease such as high blood pressure, angina pectoris, arrhythmia, etc.
