Primary OutcomeThe primary end point was the RFS rate according to pathological stage.
Secondary OutcomeSecondary end points were the OS rate according to pathological stage, the incidence of postoperative complications, and variables related to recovery and quality of life.

Include criteriaAll consecutive patients who underwent resection for a cancer located in the transverse colon between 2003 and 2019 were reviewed.
Exclude criteriaThe exclusion criteria were bowel obstruction, bowel perforation, adjacent organ invasion, distant metastases, familial polyposis coli and inflammatory bowel diseases, gastrointestinal disease requiring surgical intervention, concurrent or previous malignant tumor and a history of malignant disease within 5 years, preoperative chemotherapy, and severe medical illness.
