Outcome(s)

• Primary Outcome: first defecation pain intensity and stool consistency
• Secondary Outcome: the use of stool softner, operating time, VAS, Bristol stool form scale, Constipation Scoring System, hemorrhoidal symptom score

Key inclusion & exclusion criteria

• Age minimum: >= 20age old
• Age maximum: Not applicable
• Gender: Both
• Include criteria: Patients with 3rd or 4th degree hemorrhoids underwent operation with half hemorrhoidectomy what we call EA method.
• Exclude criteria: Patients with a concomitant anal fissure, history of anal surgery, ongoing pregnancy, or inflammatory bowel disease were excluded.
