Intervention(s)

The intervention group consisted of Companies A-F with Company A, the headquarters office of a life insurance company in Tokyo, Company D, factory of chemical products and other companies, electrical appliance manufacturers. Company C was located in the Kanto area in east Japan while the other 4 companies were located in west Japan either in the Kinki (Companies D, E and F) or Hokuriku areas (Company B).
The control group consisted of Companies H-L. Company H was a chemical company factory in Tokyo, while 4 companies were factories of electrical appliance manufacturers, with Companies G and K being located in the Kanto area and Companies I and J in the Hokuriku area. 3,500 wokers aged 18 to 65.

Outcome(s)

• Primary Outcome: hypertension, dyslipidemia, glucose intolerance and smoking
• Secondary Outcome: lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise and drinking, knowledge

Key inclusion & exclusion criteria

• Age minimum: 18years-old
• Age maximum: 65years-old
• Gender: Male and Female
• Exclude criteria: coronary heart disease, stroke
