Percutaneous approach to detect cytokines in inflammatory skin diseases

Basic Information

Recruitment status Complete
Health condition(s) or Problem(s) studiedInflammatory skin disease
Date of first enrollment05/03/2019
Target sample size50
Countries of recruitmentJapan
Study typeInterventional
Intervention(s)We develop skin-blotting to measure the amounts of percutaneously expressed cytokines by putting the nitrocellulose membrane on the lesional skin of the inflammatory skin diseases, and investigate if the evaluation of the cytokines detected by the skin-blotting is useful for the early diagnosis of severe erythema multiforme. If so, the skin-blotting might influence the clinical course.

Outcome(s)

Primary OutcomeTo investigate if there is correlation between symptoms of each inflammatory skin diseases and the amounts of cytokines detected percutaneously with skin blotting.
Secondary OutcomeEvaluation of skin blotting for the early diagnosis of severe erythema multiforme such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis.
