Intervention(s)

Acupressure on pericardium 6 (20 min), Washout period (10 min), Aromatherapy with peppermint essential oil (5 min)
Acupressure on sham point (20 min), Washout period (10 min), Aromatherapy with distilled water (5 min)

Outcome(s)

• Primary Outcome: insertion distance of saliva ejector after intervention of complementary therapy
• Secondary Outcome: Pulse rate, Galvanic skin response after intervention of complementary therapy

Key inclusion & exclusion criteria

• Age minimum: 20years-old
• Age maximum: 50years-old
• Gender: Male and Female
• Exclude criteria: We excluded those with 1) mental illness, physical disease, or oral disease; 2) dentures; 3) a history of eustachian tube obstruction, nasal obstruction, pneumothorax, or intestinal obstruction; and 4) medications that may affect autonomic nerve activity.
